Profitability and Productivity
Thus - an agreement between two seasoned breeders on what type of
Suffolk sheep to raise:
Suffolk's that have livability, high production and that are thick, long, heavy
muscled, wide top sheep, with high feed conversion.
In August, 2007 at the Erstrom Flock Dispersal, 18 ewes and 2 rams
where hand selected out of 450 head of outstanding sheep!
These sheep are RR, thick, wide, and easy doing. This was a 'once
in a lifetime' opportunity to obtain Suffolk's that have true Suffolk's
characteristic, heavy bone structure. These ewes where paired up
this two outstanding Erstrom Ram Lambs.

When a family spends more than a lifetime breeding outstanding sheep, it is
hard decision to have dispersion. We would like to thank Pat Erstrom and his
family for the exceptional job they did in breeding these sheep and most of all
for their vision of the Suffolk breed. On behalf of GRR and Praire Suffolks,
we look forward to carry on their tradition.
Just one of the outstanding RR brood
ewes from Erstrom's!
The shorn ewe are from the
Erstrom Flock and the other are
Prairie Suffolk's.
Erstrom #2159 as a yearling ram.
Erstrom #2192 rams as a yearling.
Erstrom #2192 as a two year old.
Timeless!
Great River Ranch re-built their buildings after losing them to
a tornado. Norm will be lambing the Erstrom ewes and their
daughter at his Chester, ILL farm the spring of 2011. We look
forward to working with Great River Ranch as Dwight and
Norm share the same vision and love of the Suffolk Breed.
